Edith Gutierrez
Edith Barron Gutierrez is an ROP success story. Edith attended Atwater High School and was enrolled in ROP Careers with Children in 1980, taught by Donna Plagenza. Edith married and started her family, but she continued to be interested in working with young children. As she was raising her own four children, she worked at St. Paul’s Preschool and even had her own in-home day care for three years. She is currently a preschool teacher for Merced City School District and also a site supervisor for a current, Careers in Education ROP student. Edith has also worked as a correctional officer, but her heart is in helping young children. Edith’s experience and dedication to helping children succeed makes her an ROP success story.
