Nellie Luna
Nellie Luna is a senior at Gustine High and is currently enrolled in Mr. Baffunno's ROP Food Science class.
She believes a successful person is someone who knows what they want to accomplish and works hard to achieve their goals. Her future goals include attending a four year university and choosing a career path that will allow her to be creative. Nellie loves to cook and believes ROP Food Science has been helpful in showing her how food is handled, where it comes from, and the best way to cook it. She has been able to apply the skills she has learned throughout the year and will continue to use them in the future.
When asked what has made her a success in the class, Nellie responded that she works well with her group during all of the units, she prepares for the exams, and overall enjoys the projects. She says she would recommend the class to a fellow student because she believes it is an educational class but also one of the most hands-on class she has taken in high school.
Mr. Baffuno has selected Nellie as ROP Student of the Quarter because she is a hardworking, very knowledgeable student who does a great job in the classroom and in the lab.
