Paula Silva
Paula Silva is Hilmar's Student of the Quarter in Mrs. de Matos' ROP Careers in Education class. Paula believes in order to be a successful student of the quarter you must be able to balance chores, homework, and school activities.
Paula describes a successful person as someone who is willing to learn from their past mistakes and use them in life. Paula’s future goals include attending college, obtaining a job that she will enjoy, having a family, and making a difference in others' lives.
A skill that Paula has learned in her ROP class is planning each step out during class. "Without having a lesson plan what is the use of the student being there," states Paula. Some advice Paula would give to other students regarding the ROP Careers in Education program is to have patience.
Mrs. de Matos selected Paula for several reasons. She works well with kids, has a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and motivates the students to progress.
