3rd Quarter 2007-2008 - Le Grand High School

Victor Perez
Victor Perez is enrolled in Mr. Govea's ROP Career Planning class at Granada High School. He has been chosen as ROP Student of the Quarter because of his great attributes.
Victor believes a successful person is someone who stays focused on their goals and completes them. One of Victor's goals at the end of the 2 quarter was to improve his attendance so that he could earn three credits a week to graduate as a junior. Victor was able to attain this goal and that is one of the reasons he has been chosen for student of the quarter. Victor's future goals are to attend Universal Technical Institute, graduate with his certification and become a mechanic.
While enrolled in Mr. Govea's ROP Career Planning class, Victor learned how to fill out applications, write a resume, and was able to obtain a letter of recommendation. In addition, Victor was able to complete an ROP Portfolio and learn interview skills. Victor believes that with these skills, it will be easier to go through an interview and attain a job. He recommends students to take a ROP class because it will teach you how to prepare for the real life and you will obtain skills that are meaningful.
Mr. Govea chose Victor as ROP Student of the Quarter for several reasons. He was enrolled in a landscaping class with the Granada Principal, Mr. Nichols, and did well in all areas. Victor also improved his daily school attendance and worked hard to complete all of his credits and most importantly, graduate as a junior. Victor is a very courteous student and strives to do better each day!
